A TSH thyroid test is not the end-all, be-all for hypothyroidism diagnosis; TSH means “thyroid stimulating hormone”. Your TSH results can be absolutely normal, yet you can have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism. Suzy Cohen, RPh, explains that your doctor needs to also test free T3 and reverse T3.

I cannot thank you enough for expressing all of this though the internet. My son is being evaluated for sensory processing, as well as other various things. We have such a difficult time with him. He changed ever since he turned 20 months. From then on, we have been trying so hard to help him. It is so challenging. There are days when I am just ready to bury my head in the sand.
