WEBINAR REPLAY: THERAPIES THAT WORK FOR AUTISM, PDD-NOS, SPD, ADHD, LD AND DEVELOPMENTAL DELAYS

Patty Lemer

Patty Lemer

Earlier today, I interviewed Patricia Lemer, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Developmental Delay Resources (DDR), a non-profit that is dedicated to meeting the needs of children with developmental delays in sensory, motor, language, social, and emotional areas.

Today’s interview was phenomenal and full of practical information because Patty has worked with these children for over 40 years, and she knows what therapies and interventions work.

Some of her recommended resources are:

Patty lists many more references in the webinar, so it’s a good idea to listen to it.

WHY IS NEW JERSEY’S AUTISM RATE SO HIGH?

New JerseyNew Jersey’s autism rate has more than doubled in 10 years to one in 49 children, compared with one in 94 in 2002.  New Jersey’s rate is second only to Utah’s.

Why have levels increased so dramatically?  Talk to any teacher or school nurse who’s been around a while, and you’ll find it’s not just better diagnosis.

There is a perfect storm of environmental causes behind this epidemic.  In New Jersey, this likely has to do with the fact that a large part of the state is highly industrialized.  Perhaps those toxic industrial byproducts are contributing to this alarming rate.  Read more…

RECOVERY FROM AUTISM WITH THE GAPS DIET

GAPS diet bookWatch how ZiZi is recovering from autism with the GAPS diet.

GAPS stands for Gut And Psychology Syndrome, and it restores gut dysbiosis, an imbalance of good vs. bad bacteria, yeast and pathogens in the gut, where 70% of the immune system is located.

The GAPS diet can work on symptoms of autism because of the gut/brain connection.  Many neurotransmitters are made in the gut, and if your gut isn’t happy, your brain isn’t happy.  Watch the video…

TOTAL LOAD THEORY: HOW TOXINS CONTRIBUTE TO AUTISM, ADHD AND MORE

smokestacksLearn how toxins and lifestyle factors contribute to autism, PDD-NOS, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, hypotonia, retained reflexes and developmental delays.

In this video presentation, Patty Lemer, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Developmental Delay Resources, explains the top toxins and their effect on the health and development of fetuses, babies and children.

Patty shows us how endocrine disruptors like soy, fluoride, chlorine and flame retardants as well as heavy metals like mercury contribute to these disorders.

Patty also tells us how to enhance our body’s ability to detoxify as well as how to avoid exposure to toxins.

WHICH PATHOGENS LURK IN YOUR GUT?

CandidaDid you know that gut dysbiosis, which means there are too many pathogens outnumbering probiotic bacteria, is linked to autism, PDD-NOS, ADHD, allergies, asthma, sensory processing disorder, colic, eczema, IBS and autoimmune diseases like lupus, fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis?

If your gut is dysbiotic, you likely have immune dysregulation.

For $99 or less (the more you order, the cheaper it is), you can find out which good guys and bad guys are taking up residence inside of you.

If you’ve ever had any kind of stool analysis done, you’ll know this is a bargain price AND the results are anonymously documented in the Human Microbiome Project.  Read more…

PREGNANCY AND ANTIBIOTICS

It’s a bad idea to take antibiotics during pregnancy.  Children whose mothers took antibiotics during pregnancy are more likely to develop asthma, as well as autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, dyslexia, arthritis, allergies, depression, bipolar disorder, eczema, kidney problems, schizophrenia, acid reflux, colic and autoimmune disorders.  Read more…

TOXIC FLAME RETARDANTS INCREASING

Flame retardants are endocrine disruptors found in almost all new furniture.  They are linked to autism, ADHD, developmental delays, hypothyroidism and more.   Dust tainted by the couches and other household items is “a major route of exposure to people.”  Read more…

LOW LEVELS OF PESTICIDES DAMAGE THE BRAIN

Here’s another reason to eat organic food and stop spraying your lawn:  even low levels of organophosphate pesticides cause brain damage.  Exposure is linked to a decline in memory and slower processing speed.  Read more…

ARE PEDIATRICIANS NECESSARY?

My friend, Patty Lemer, Executive Director of Developmental Delay Resources, asks the question:  “Do YOU need a pediatrician?”  Over the past 40 years, Patty has witnessed the unfolding of the epidemic of autism as well as other childhood diseases, which are now the “new normal”.

She recommends, and I agree, that parents should trust the body’s wisdom to heal itself.

She says, “Think hard before caving in to fear-mongering about disease and childhood illnesses.  Do you really need a pediatrician for a “well-baby” check-up consisting of a weigh-in and vaccination lecture, or can you trust your intuition that your child is thriving?”  Read more…
